We would like to applaud the efforts of the faculty of Maritime Studies and extend congratulations to the  (9) Diploma students who were successful at their OOW MCA orals. These 9 students were attached to the Navigation option and were eligible for the Officer Of the Watch (OOW) Maritime and  Coastguard Agency (MCA)  orals examination, which they have all passed. They are now currently pursuing the Scottish Qualification Authority (SQA) professional examinations.  On completion of this, they would be eligible to obtain their MCA, OOW license. This certification is internationally recognized, giving them an opportunity to serve on vessels worldwide as professional OOW.
