The IOCCG is an international committee of experts including scientists, academics and managers that are dedicated to the study of ocean colour properties from satellite data. Their main objective is to develop consensus and synthesis of satellite ocean colour radiometry (OCR) among developers and users. In July 2016, the IOCCG hosted a workshop themed "Frontiers in Ocean Optics and Ocean Colour Science" dedicated to high-level training in the fundamentals of ocean optics, bio-optics and ocean colour remote sensing at the Laboratoire d'Océanographie de Villefranche (LOV), in Villefranche-sur-Mer, France. Mr. Deanesh Ramsewak, Senior Instructor in marine sciences at UTT was invited to participate in this workshop sponsored in part by the European Space Agency (ESA).
