The World Health Organization (WHO) and the Trinidad and Tobago Equal Opportunity Act 2000 defines a "Disability" as:
Individuals with disabilities who attend The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) are provided reasonable accommodations and/or modifications in order to have equal access to programmes and services offered. To receive accommodations, a student must notify the Student Development Unit (SDU) to initiate the process to determine eligibility for accommodations. The student is strongly encouraged to contact SDU as soon as they are admitted to the University as this allows for sufficient time to ensure that accommodations are in place for the beginning of the academic term.
Staff is available to assist a student with a disability in determining which accommodations are appropriate and how to access these accommodations. Information provided in determining accommodations is considered private and confidential.
