Cooperation Centre- Caribbean

MTCC Caribbean is a regional centre of excellence hosted by The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT), dedicated to promoting low-carbon maritime transport through innovation, technology transfer, and regional collaboration.

As part of the Global MTCC Network (GMN), funded by the European Union and implemented by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), MTCC Caribbean actively engages in Phase II of the GMN project, expanding its mandate to strengthen regional capacity, pilot decarbonization solutions, and build strategic partnerships across Small Island Developing States (SIDS) in the Caribbean.

The Centre also leads complementary initiatives such as TEST Biofouling, which supports sustainable hull maintenance and biofouling management under IMO's GloFouling Partnerships framework.
