JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY
Responsible for writing proposals for grants and other revenue-generating projects geared towards academic research and commercialisation of the University’s intellectual property while persuasively communicating UTT’s mission and programmes to potential funders.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepares grant and contract projects to ensure consistent application and compliance with agency and University regulations, policies and procedures.

Communicates the University’s mission and research programmes to potential funders.

Assembles and submits requests for grants including emails, letters, proposals, budgets, and presentations.

Builds relationships and maintains personal contact with both local and international funding agencies and programme officers.

Conducts research and liaises with other project partners and Universities in meeting the goals stated in the approved grants.

Prioritises and organises projects to keep multiple projects moving in a timely manner, meets deadlines and manages supplemental material requests necessary to complete grant proposals/objectives.

Liaises with academic staff and departments such as project accounting and finance to gather information necessary to report on progress of grant programmes.

Maintains current records including grant tracking and reporting for audit purposes.

Assists with other fundraising projects as requested.

Undertakes other related assignments as required.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in a Social Sciences or related/similar field.

Minimum of three (3) years grant/proposal writing experience.
