JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

To assist with the planning and preparation of equipment, as well as related teaching and learning aids as assigned by the Programme Leader or designate.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Sets up equipment and other required materials for practical exercises.
• Instructs and demonstrates workshop/laboratory exercises.
• Prepares workshop/laboratory specimens.
• Performs minor maintenance on instructional equipment (including renewable energy equipment).
• Sources equipment and related materials (chemicals, solutions, etc.) from various suppliers.
• Maintains inventory of all equipment and related materials in area of responsibility.
• Provides feedback, coaching, guidance and support to students regarding workshop/laboratory exercises.
• Provides reports and feedback to the Instructor/Professor.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Advanced Technical Diploma / Associate Degree or equivalent.
• A minimum of five (5) years' relevant experience in electrical and mechanical engineering.

COMPETENCIES

• Sound knowledge in the area of instruction being demonstrated.
• Sound knowledge in Electromechanical Engineering for maintaining and servicing electromechanical devices and systems.
• Sound knowledge of relevant software, hardware and laboratory equipment to be used in exercises.
• Ability to instruct.
• Ability to work effectively in teams.
• Sound oral and written communication skills.
• Computer literate.
