Project Associate - Carbon Capture and Storage

JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY

To perform moderately complex research and experimentation following established protocols and performs routine lab and equipment maintenance.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Undertakes special research projects and other related duties as assigned;
  • Collects, analyzes and evaluates verbal or statistical data;
  • Prepares reports and studies as assigned;
  • Participates in research conferences and seminars;
  • Teaching
    • Assists in the implementation of academic programmes; helps monitor students' progress;
    • Assists with supervising students academically, supporting them in study sessions and tutorials;
    • Works closely with instructors to provide academically challenging instruction to students;
    • Carries out administrative tasks as assigned by instructors;
  • Provides service to the University and/or community/society as required;
  • Complies with Academic regulations and the University's policies & procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • MEng in Petroleum or Chemical Engineering or BSc in Geoscience or equivalent in a related discipline from a recognized University
  • Software Skills in CMG, PETEX (MBAL, PROSPER, GAP), Petrel/Eclipse are highly recommended
  • Must be able to do programming e.g. python, Java
  • Ability to use ArcGIS will be an asset
  • No prior teaching or research experience required

  • Theoretical knowledge of the discipline of petroleum and/or chemical engineering
  • Knowledge of research methodologies
  • Knowledge of statistics
