UTT Libraries received the EBSCO Award for Leadership in the Use of Technologies to Expand and Facilitate Access to Electronic Content, for its implementation of FOLIO in April 2023, the first in Latin America and the Caribbean. FOLIO, The Future of Libraries is Open, is an open-source, library services platform, developed by EBSCO. The Award was received at the 52nd Association of Caribbean University Research and Institutional Libraries, (ACURIL), conference in Jamaica, with the theme, “Innovation and Challenges in Libraries, Archives and Museums of the Caribbean”, from June 4 - 8, 2023.

Susan Sandiford, Campus Librarian and Chief University Librarian (Ag.) accepted the award on behalf of UTT and presented ‘Ting Tun Up! The Implementation of FOLIO at The University of Trinidad and Tobago’, by Susan Sandiford and Sunita Gobin, Campus Librarian.
