Academic Unit: Centre for Education Programmes

Dr Lynette Tyson-Noel was a lecturer with the Centre for Education programmes Unit for several years.

From early in life, she was taught to value education and as such always wanted to be a teacher. After spending thirty years in the primary and secondary school system, Corinth Teachers’ College, the University afforded her the opportunity to be a teacher educator.

With these opportunities she honed her skills and made teaching a lifestyle.

Her maxim reflects the passion she has for education and the professional development of all teachers.

Dr Tyson-Noel believes "There is no engagement without motivation. You have to reach them to teach them."

She says it is a signal of genuine honour for her to receive this prestigious EiTA, 2023.
