Re: Professor Dyer Narinesingh's Retirement
Professor Dyer Narinesingh has retired from the post of President of UTT, having served in that position for the last four years.
Professor Narinesingh has served the University well throughout these years and has graciously accepted several extensions while UTT searched for a new President. He also served as Acting Provost from February 2016 until his retirement on July 31, 2017.
UTT has benefitted tremendously from the work of the outgoing President, Professor Dyer Narinesingh. Among many other important institutional and strategic initiatives, under his tenure, he oversaw UTT's Strategic Plan 2017 - 2022 and several alliances and MOUs with local, regional and international universities and other organizations, including the MIC Institute of Technology. During this period UTT became the host University of the Maritime Training Cooperation Centre in the Caribbean (MTCC-Caribbean) and took the lead with Medgar Evers College of New York in the establishment of the US Caribbean International Education Consortium; UTT was the first University, in the region, to host a Biomedical Engineering Conference, an international symposium on Enhancing Ocean Governance in the Caribbean Region and many other conferences, seminars, symposia, workshops and lectures on several topics, among which were significant crime and energy issues. Most importantly, Professor Narinesingh maintained his equanimity, ensuring stability of the University during this time of economic constraints and organisational transition.
On behalf of the Board of Governors of UTT, staff and students, I wish to thank Professor Narinesingh for all that he has done to move UTT forward and for providing a solid foundation for the incoming President. I wish Professor Narinesingh good health and hope that he finds life after retirement filled with happy moments and beautiful memories.

Professor Kenneth S. Julien (Emeritus), T.C.,
Chairman of the Board of Governors.
