The Biosciences, Agriculture and Food Technologies (BAFT) programmes proudly celebrated the outstanding achievements of its students at the annual BAFT Student Awards Ceremony, an occasion dedicated to recognising excellence in academics, leadership, innovation, athletics, and service to the BAFT community.

The event showcased the exceptional accomplishments of students across the diverse programme areas, including Food Technology, Ornamental Horticulture, Crop Production, Livestock Production, Animal Health, and Natural Resource Management and Forestry. By celebrating achievements across these disciplines, BAFT reaffirmed its commitment to developing highly skilled graduates equipped to address national priorities in agriculture, food security, animal health, environmental sustainability, horticulture and natural resource stewardship.

More than an awards presentation, the ceremony reflected BAFT's philosophy of holistic student development. In addition to academic distinction, awards were presented to students who demonstrated exemplary leadership, active participation in sports, community engagement, volunteerism, and outstanding service. These students embody the values of professionalism, integrity, collaboration, and innovation that define the BAFT experience.

As Trinidad and Tobago advances its policies in sustainable agriculture, food and nutrition security, horticulture, animal health and welfare, biodiversity conservation, forestry, and environmental resilience, BAFT remains at the forefront of educating the next generation of scientists, technologists, agricultural professionals, and natural resource/forest managers who will shape the future of these critical sectors.
