When industry, academia and government work in harmony the nation’s children benefit.
The University of Trinidad and Tobago’s (UTT) Aviation Unit and Caribbean Airlines (CAL) joined minds and hearts in bringing the SEA class of Aranguez Government Primary School to UTT Camden Campus for a field trip and luncheon. The campus, which is home to the University’s aviation programmes, facilitated a proud moment - especially for female students - as they had the pleasure of meeting the first woman chairperson of the airline, Reyna Kowlessar.
Chairperson Kowlessar and CAL board member Sharlene Maharaj were present to meet and greet the students and share many enlightening moments as they toured the campus’ training facility, workshops and various aircraft utilised for aircraft engineering training, in the company of Aviation Director Parissram Jaggernath and senior faculty.
A special thank you the dedicated class teacher, Ria Kissoon, for her commitment and care shown toward the students in her charge. It is safe to say the future wellbeing of the aviation industry is a little bit brighter because of the interest shown by these young minds during this field trip.
