The programme is designed for new persons who wish to enter the aviation industry, primarily in the area of aircraft maintenance and support services, ground handling and ground support as well as airport ancillary operations. This certificate is also designed to provide a platform for students to articulate into higher- level aviation programmes including Diplomas and Bachelor degrees in Aircraft Maintenance and Management.

Full-Time: One (1) Year

Part-Time: Two (2) Years

2. UTT Point Lisas Campus

• Passes in at least five (5) subjects at CSEC (CXC O'Levels) General Proficiency (Grades I and/or II and from 1998, Grade III) or GCE O'Levels, which must include Mathematics, English Language and Physics; or
• Completion of the Aviation Special Admission Programme; or
• Completion of recommended courses in U-STEP - UTT's Special Tertiary Education Pathway.

In addition, all students will be required to obtain the following:

• Police Certificate of Character

Mature Student Entry

An applicant who does not satisfy all the stipulated minimum academic or technical qualifications for admission to the Programme may be accepted for special admittance as a Mature Student. He/she would need to possess:  

• At least three years’ experience within a related technical environment 
• Police Certificate of Character. 

The applicant may be expected to undergo an interview process to ensure that he/she will fit the criteria for entry into the Programme.

Upon graduation candidates should be able to perform basic functions within an aviation organization, such as:

• Stores Clerk
• Technical Library Attendant
• Tool Room Attendant
• Airport Security
• Workshop Attendant
