Certificate in Security and Public Safety

Diploma in Security and Public Safety

While it builds on the Certificate programme, the Diploma provides advanced and specialized practical and tactical knowledge in supervising and managing security and public safety affairs as well as designing and implementing appropriate interventions. For example, it offers among other things a higher level of training in:

  • Supervisory and management functions in security and public safety.
  • Designing of security and public safety interventions.
  • Specialist training in conducting, analyzing and writing quantitative research.
  • Selected issues such as criminal investigations, gangs, criminal psychology, risk analysis and assessment, ethics and professionalism, gender and crime, restorative justice, etc.
  • Developing crime prevention strategies.
  • Hands-on practical training, presentations from experts, field visits, etc.

Bachelor of Applied Science in Criminology and Public Safety
