CATHERINE ALI

Catherine Ali's Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Gender and Development Studies (UWI) focused on restorative justice approaches to transforming traumatic conflict in Trinidad. She is a mediator and restorative justice practitioner exploring fresh approaches to healing traumatic conflict using photobiomodulation to remove pain and modulate stuck emotion. Photobiomodulation places light energy inside the cell’s batteries - mitochondria - restoring cell capacity to reboot, self-heal and function normally. Like photosynthesis in chlorophyll cells, light energy heals damaged tissue and regrows healthy cells gently and naturally, for performing transformation. Light therapy reduces feelings of stress, powerlessness and fear and gently opens perspectives to insight and transformation. Morninga supports all systems, particularly the immune system, and rehabilitates the body/mind/spirit balance, to enable hearing in preparation for negotiation. Reducing pain and trauma helps shifts stuck emotions and the frozen conflicts that make us sick socially and individually, and underscores the importanceof the First annual Caribbean Moringa Symposium and Festival. Dr. Ali leads the Palmasola Women’s Association which cultivates Moringa and Chadow Beni from plant to product, empowers women’s groups in agri-business and seeks export markets. The NGO uses local seeds that originated in Jahaji bundles and is researching Moringa nutraceutical products.
