Applications Support Analyst II, Technology Services

JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY

To facilitate the University's digital transformation and process automation initiatives geared towards the improvement of overall organisational effectiveness and efficiency, while supporting enterprise systems consolidation and integration.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Designs, develops, deploys, and maintains custom process automation solutions for various user departments/units.
  • Analyses, troubleshoots, and resolves system performance and user issues in enterprise application and custom process automation solutions.
  • Installs, configures, and maintains an up-to-date production, testing and development environment for the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and process automation platforms to meet Service Level Agreement (SLA) targets.
  • Evaluates, tests and recommends necessary software application products and services in support of the department's digital transformation efforts.
  • Facilitates the migration from and retirement of legacy information systems.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or Computer Science.
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Office 365, SharePoint Online and the Microsoft Power Platform
    • Microsoft BI or other similar business intelligence or enterprise reporting platforms
    • Operating and networking systems: Windows, Linux, TCP/IP, and other Internet technologies,
    • Programming language: JavaScript, Python, C#, PHP, .Net, SQL, etc.
    • Database Systems: MSSQL, Oracle
    • Webserver environments: WAMP, XAMPP, LAMP, IIS
    •  Development environments: Visual Studio, Eclipse, etc.
  • Certifications in Databases or Business Application Development would be an asset.
  • At least 5 years relevant work experience inclusive of application development, maintenance and implementation.

COMPETENCIES

  • Sound knowledge and/or experience with database management systems, networks and servers operating systems.
  • Sound knowledge of Business Process Mapping and Reengineering techniques.
  • Sound knowledge of application development techniques.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Very strong customer service orientation, working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite of programs.
  • Ability to maintain high levels of integrity and professionalism.
