Maritime & Marine Sciences Campus Student Fair

On Friday 27th June 2014 UTT's Mr. Colin Gopaul, Dr. Reia Guppy, Dr. Curtis Boodoo, Mrs. Vivian Rambarath-Parasram with the assistance of Student Recruitment Unit, organized a Student Fair at the Chaguanas campus, home of Marine Sciences and Maritime Studies. UTT partnered with the local chapter of the IEEE (Institute for Electrical and Electronic Engineers ) for the event. Close to eighty (80) students and teachers attended from: St Mary's College, Fatima College, Queens Royal College, Trinity College, Bishops, Holy Faith Convent Couva and St. Anthony's College. The event consisted of a keynote lecture given by Dr. Boodoo on "Mathematics and its applications to engineering and science" followed by a campus tour of the maritime simulators and exhibits from the Marine Sciences department. The IEEE representatives made a presentation based on the topic "Women in Engineering" and also provided a robotics exhibit and presentation.
