UTT's Music Technology of ICT Students Archive Panorama
Pan - the instruments, the bands, and the music - is our most important cultural invention. It embraces more musicians and attracts larger audiences than any other art form. Pantrinbago has nearly 200 member bands, which are potentially some of our most vibrant community groups, totaling thousands of men and women, boys and girls, in disciplined, collective, artistic and educational activities. Now that pan has gone global, we must brand T&T as the home of pan by establishing a National Pan Archive of the audio, video and documentary records of pan history. UTT's Music Technology of ICT (Centre for Information and Communication Technology), is doing so through its proactive recording programmes, which capture in high-definition digital format live performances not otherwise captured, such as the Panorama preliminaries. This project is especially important to the many bands which do not progress beyond that level and are therefore not recorded by the national television and radio stations.
