The Tobago House of Assembly (THA) Community Development, Youth Development and Sport Division, has recently installed former UTT Patriots Basketball student-athlete and captain, Jerel Orr, as the Vice Chairman of the Lalonde Gordon Sport Development Fund Committee. The installation of the new committee took place on December 9th, 2022 and welcomed the services of other highly accomplished Tobagonians in the sporting domain. This also includes former UTT Patriots Men's Football goal keeper, Makenie Denoon, Monica Selma Moore Guy, Jhayde Williams, Dexter Edwards, Kelsey Toussaint, Syandene Blackman-Walsh and Makan Hislop (Chairman). They will serve from 2022-2023. According to the THA, the Lalonde Gordon Sport Development Fund was launched in 2013 to honour 2012 double Olympic bronze medalist, and Tobago born, Lalonde Gordon. It is mechanism put in place to assist in the development of sportsmen and sportswomen of Tobago, through the enhancement of sport participation and access to further training. Orr, who hails from New Grange, Tobago graduated from The University of Trinidad and Tobago in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Studies with specialisation in Exercise Science (Magna Cum Laude). Denoon graduated in 2021 with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Criminology and Public Safety.
