Dr. Bridget Adams Appointed President of Americas Netball

UTT Patriots Netball Head Coach, Dr. Bridget Adams, has been appointed President of Americas Netball, formerly known as the Americas Federation of Netball Associations (AFNA).

Dr. Adams was elected unopposed, following the Association's Annual General Meeting held in Kingston, Jamaica earlier this month. She succeeds outgoing President, Marva Bernard OD, who did not seek re-election and who will continue to serve as Regional Director of the Americas Region until July, 2023. Thereafter, Dr. Adams will takeover as Regional Director.

As President, Dr. Adams and the team of elected officers, will be in charge of governing, managing, directing and supervising the operations of netball throughout the Americas region, which consist of a total of 18 full (financial) member countries, the largest of World Netball's five regions. The other members of the administrative body consist of Shirley Benjamin - Honourary Secretary (Antigua & Barbuda), Jacintha Ballentine - Treasurer (St. Vincent and the Grenadines), Javon Edwards - Second Vice President (Sint Maarten), and Simone Forbes - First Vice President (Jamaica). The new executive will hold office until 2026.

Dr. Adams was a member of the previous Americas Netball executive as Honourary Secretary, from 2018-2022. She is also a part of the World Netball Coaching Advisory Panel. In her new capacity, Dr. Adams will travel to South Africa for the Netball World Cup from July 28 - August 6, 2023.

The new executive will be installed during the closing ceremony of the Netball World Cup Regional Qualifier on Saturday 22nd October, 2022.
