The Arawak Group of Companies is the largest poultry processor in Trinidad and Tobago and has been providing the public with quality chickens for over 30 years that meet food safety and Hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP) standards. It is their emphasis on quality that has played a critical role in the company's success and has allowed it to flourish over the years. With this in mind, students Asha Morton, Godwin Anang and Cherone Boyce of the Food Science and Technology (FS&T) Bachelor, Diploma and Certificate programmes respectively, were employed at Arawak to fulfill internship deliverables. They were assigned to the QA department and were tasked with ensuring that the quality standards at Arawak were maintained and improved where necessary, based on the knowledge obtained while studying at the FS&T unit of The University of Trinidad and Tobago.
