The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) has unified its teams that participate in various sporting disciplines under one banner - the UTT PATRIOTS.

A patriot is defined as “a person who vigourously supports their country and is prepared to defend it against enemies or detractors". As the National University of Trinidad and Tobago, UTT takes pride in its role in innovation, research, the dissemination of knowledge and the overall advancement of our society. To this end, the UTT PATRIOTS are set to dominate the sporting arena locally, regionally and internationally.

The emblem for the UTT PATRIOTS consist of four (4) distinct elements:

The Sun

As the sun is believed to be a representation of the higher self, this symbol serves as the core inspiration of a UTT PATRIOT - striving to be the best version of oneself both on and off the field.

The Steelpan

The influence of the steelpan has transcended borders, with steel orchestras being established all over the world. In similar fashion, members of the UTT PATRIOTS seek to gain recognition in their chosen fields, not only for themselves, but for the University and the wider national community.

The Marked Face

The face at the centre of the emblem for the UTT PATRIOTS is adorned in markings to signify the innate warrior spirit, discipline and determination of each team member towards achieving their goals.

The National Colours

Granted UTT is the National University of Trinidad and Tobago and its core brand employs the use of the national colours of Trinidad and Tobago, it is fitting that the UTT PATRIOTS use a similar colour palette.
