Ms. Adams holds an Executive Masters Degree in Sports Management and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Sport Studies, with a concentration on Sport Psychology. She was certified as a netball coach and a coach presenter, with the responsibility of certifying coaches. She is also a part-time lecturer at UTT. Ms. Adams represented Trinidad and Tobago in three (3) World Tournaments: Singapore (1983), Scotland (1987) and Australia (1991). She also played in several Caribbean and Americas Federation of Netball Associations (AFNA) Championships, and coached the senior national team at the Commonwealth Games in 2010.
Ms. Adams first represented her country at the age of fifteen (15) and went on to captain the senior national team from 1988 to 1993. She also played on the West Indies team which toured England and Wales in 1991. Ms. Adams received several MVP awards, including the Most Outstanding Player Award at the end of the Caribbean Championships in 1989 and won the Individual Shooting Competition at the Caribbean Championships for seven (7) consecutive years, from 1983 to 1989.
She is the only shooter to have won the Shooting Competition by scoring a perfect twenty (20) goals out of twenty (20) attempts in 1991; a record no one has tied to date. She captained the Under-23 and Under-21 national teams and played on the National Secondary School’s team.
Bridget is one of five (5) coaches that were appointed to serve on the Americas Federation Netball Association (AFNA) coaching panel. She is a member of the Technical and Development Committee of the Trinidad and Tobago Netball Association and is presently the President of the San Fernando Netball League.
Ms. Adams received several awards, namely from the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs, the Mayaro Netball League, BPTT, the Secondary Schools League and the Caribbean Netball Association, all for her outstanding contributions and development to the sport of netball. Also, the Mayaro Netball Court was renamed “The Bridget Adams Netball Court” in her honour. She won the West Indian Tobacco Company Limited (WITCO) Sportswoman of the Year Award in 1991, as well as the Southern Sports Personality of the Year Award. Ms. Adams was also inducted into her Alma Mater Wall of Fame.
On August 24th, Bridget was elected as the General Secretary of the Americas Federation of Netball Associations (AFNA), and on April 30th, 2018 Bridget was appointed on the International Netball Federation Coaching Advisory Panel (CAP).
