Mr. Kyle Hannays is a passionate educator whose academic and professional journey came full circle with his appointment as an Instructor II at The University of Trinidad and Tobago. Despite being a fire officer by profession, Mr. Hannays began his undergraduate program at The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) in 2012; a Bachelor of Education with a specialization in Physical Education. This pursuit was one which was rooted in his love for tennis and sport in general. His love for pedagogy however predates even these humble beginnings and remains the driving force of his professional pursuits.

Having completed his undergraduate program, his thirst for knowledge and his belief in continuous education and personal development intensified. This thirst led to his pursuit and completion of his Master of Education with emphasis on Coaching Education and Athlete Development from Xavier University, Cincinnati Ohio. Outside of the aforementioned credentials, Mr. Hannays is a certified and accredited International Tennis Federation Coaching High Performance Players (Level 3) coach. He is also an International Tutor for the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and to date, he has facilitated several courses within the Caribbean region on behalf of the ITF. He has been a speaker at several coaching conferences both regionally and internationally where he has shared his knowledge in pedagogy and how it applies to sport and athlete development. In a more practical context, Mr. Hannays, who holds the position as Head of Coaching and Development at the Tennis Association of Trinidad and Tobago (TennisTT), has been a National Tennis Coach since 2008 and has also served as the Head Coach for the UTT High Performance Team. His role allows him to work directly with young developing athletes as well as to teach coaches how to build an athlete by focusing on physical literacy during their formative ages.

Notwithstanding the above, his areas of interest include Pedagogy, Emergency Medical Response, Long Term Development and Physical Literacy just to name a few. Among the pursuits that he finds most fulfilling are his roles as both an Emergency Medical Services provider and instructor. Given all of the above, the transition to full time educator at the university that started his academic ascent seems fitting. Mr. Hannays has found a way to achieve what many people in this life only dream of; monetization of his passions in a way that brings cohesion to personal fulfillment and profession growth.
