Dr Candice Thomas is a certified teaching Fellow and Sport & Exercise Scientist. She completed her Undergraduate degree in Physical Education and Sport at the EIEFD University, Cuba, as well as a Masters in Applied Sport Science at Bangor University, UK and PhD in Exercise and Sport Science at Deakin University, Australia. Her research projects have focused on the talent development environments and transitions of junior-elite and senior-elite Caribbean athletes as well as the health, wellbeing and performance of youth athletes and the wider population.
Dr Thomas has many years of experience working as a high-performance manager overseeing an interdisciplinary team of Sport Science and Sport Medicine professionals offering support services to domestic and regional high-performance athletes in both individual and team sports across the Caribbean. Additionally, she is a Level 2 IAAF certified Track & Field coach with over 7 years of experience working with athletes both at the domestic and regional levels.
