Dr. Jagessar is a renaissance man and has over 17 years of experience in Tertiary education. He received his PhD in Biomechanics at The University of Trinidad and Tobago in 2013.  He is an academic, an entrepreneur, an engineer, a natural bodybuilder, and an inventor. His specialty is Engineering Design which spans several diverse areas such as mechanisation of food processes, biomechanics, ergonomics, design and manufacture of exercise equipment.

The coupling of his twin passions of body consciousness and academic research led to both Doctoral work in Biomechanics at The University of Trinidad & Tobago in collaboration with The University of British Columbia and his entrepreneurial interests in the design and manufacture of exercise equipment. Dr. Jagessar has competed at several National and International level bodybuilding competitions and he is out to prove through science that the perfect body can be built naturally.  Findings from his research have provided design parameters for development of effective bench press equipment. His dream is to develop a Fitness Industry for sustainable employment for Trinbagonians.

Among his inventions/innovations are U.S. patent pending “Therapeutic Exercise Contour Support”, “ErgoBench”, “Plantain Peeler” and a Biblical Board game.  This latter product won 1st place prize at UTT’s Business Plan competition in 2009. He was a recipient of the Canada-CARICOM leadership scholarship in 2009.  He is currently engaged in research and development of the Therapeutic Exercise Contour Support.  Other research interest includes performance analysis of Olympic Weightlifting, Bench Press, Squats and Deadlifts, Water Treatment Plants for Rural areas and Development of Playground equipment for schools and communities.
