Linda Lila Mohammed (T. Dip; Cert. Ed; BSc; PhD; C Psychol.)
Dr. Linda Lila Mohammed is an Assistant Professor and the current Programme Head of the Institute of Criminology and Public Safety at the University of Trinidad and Tobago. She graduated with a PhD in Developmental Psychology from the University of the West Indies. Dr. Mohammed has over 25 years experience as an Educator, having lectured both at the College of Science Technology and Tertiary Education (COSTAATT) and The University of the West Indies (UWI), prior to her appointment to UTT in 2010. Dr. Mohammed has co-authored several peer-reviewed articles and has presented at academic conferences locally, regionally and internationally. Her research interests include gender-based violence, policing the mentally ill, job burnout and electronic monitoring of offenders. Dr. Mohammed has been a visiting scholar to the University of Ontario Institute of Technology and is about to embark on a Canada/CARICOM Faculty Leadership Scholarship to Northern Lights College in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Her most recent publications include two book chapters on intimate partner violence entitled ‘Intimate Partner Violence and Its Impact on Women’s Health: The Moderating Role of Family Support and Educational Attainment’ and ‘Intimate Partner Violence: A Trinidad and Tobago Perspective’. Dr. Mohammed is currently engaged in research on the geospatial analysis of intimate partner violence in Trinidad and Tobago. She is also a Certified Mediator with the Mediation Board of Trinidad and Tobago.
