The objectives of this facility is to provide the students with hands-on training in the various physical/chemical/biological operations involved in the treatment of municipal and industrial waters and wastewaters. This lab will be developed as a component of a new diploma-level programme geared for the training of operators who can properly run and maintain water and wastewater plants, a critically deficient skill in the Caribbean region.
Some of the facilities needed are already available while others will be acquired or custom built:

• Reverse osmosis trainer,
• Ion exchange columns (pilot scale annex),
• In-line water quality monitoring:
  • H₂S, SO₂, pH,
  • Turbidity, conductivity, DO
• Portable Conductivity/TDS/Temp Meter
