This facility provides advanced chemical and physical characterization of a wide range of materials.  The laboratory is equipped with a wide range of state of the art analytical instrumentation which includes:

• Gas Chromatograph configured with Mass Spectrometer, Flame Ionization and Thermal Conductivity detectors,
• An Atomic Absorption Spectrometer with the Graphite Furnace to enable lower detection limits as well as Hydride generation capabilities for Arsenic
• Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer (FTIR) with Attenuated Total Reflectance (ATR) sampling capabilities,
• Ultraviolet/Visible spectrophotometers (UV-VIS),
• High Pressure Liquid Chromatograph (HPLC) with Refractive Index and Diode Array UV detectors,
• Rheometer with oscillating as well as temperature controlled measurement capabilities,
• Viscometer
• Vapour Pressure Osmometer for molecular weight determination,
• Elemental analyzers
• Various water testing equipment that can measure pH, temperature, Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) etc.
