The objective of this lab, which is operated jointly with the Utilities Engineering programme, is to provide the students with hands-on training in:

• On-line measurement of various process parameters (temperature, pressure, flow rate, level, pH, dissolved solids, suspended matter, dissolved oxygen, and conductivity ),
• Fundamentals of process control. Process Dynamic Characteristics. Process control strategies e.g. feedback, feed-forward control, ratio control, and split range control systems.
• P&ID control of common process variables (flow rate, level, temperature, pressure and pH).
• Single and multiple loop Process Control Trainers (P-only, PI, PD and P&ID control algorithms)
• Model based control systems (DeltaV Workstations)
