UTT Celebrates Five Local Luminaries at its 2024 Presentation of Graduates Ceremony

The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) will host its 2024 Presentation of Graduates Ceremony on October 28th and 29th, 2024 at the Lord Kitchener Auditorium, National Academy for the Performing Arts (NAPA), Port-of-Spain. This year’s ceremony is themed “Global Visionaries Embracing a World of Possibilities”, and will see over twelve hundred (1,200) graduands receive undergraduate and higher degrees.

Five distinguished local luminaries will also be acknowledged, for their sterling contributions to the development of Trinidad and Tobago. They are as follows:

Mr Sieunarine Persad Coosal - for his contribution to the fields of philanthropy and innovation, will receive an Honorary Doctorate of Entrepreneurship and Innovation

 



Mr Leon Edwards - for his contribution to the fields of steelpan music, composition and arrangement, will receive an Honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts

 



Ms Marilyn Gordon - for her contribution to the fields of education and sports, will receive an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters

 



Mr Bertrand Kelman - for his contribution to the fields of steelpan tuning and design, will receive an Honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts

 

Mr Orville London - for his contribution to the fields of politics and education, will receive an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters

The University is honoured to celebrate these pioneers, whose achievements exemplify a spirit of dedication and service to country. They have not only enriched their respective fields but have also served as beacons of inspiration for all.

Her Excellency Christine Carla Kangaloo, O.R.T.T., President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and Chancellor of The University of Trinidad and Tobago, will preside over this year’s session for higher degrees and honorary doctorates.
