Arthur Carr, a proud alumnus of UTT's Institute of Criminology and Public Safety (ICPS), has achieved remarkable milestones since graduating with a Bachelor of
Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Criminology and Public Safety, and being selected as valedictorian, both in 2019.
In 2022, Carr made his mark in the literary world by authoring and publishing his first book, titled "So You Want to be a Police Officer?" His dedication to excellence was duly recognised when he received the NALIS First-Time Author Award on April 23rd, 2023.
Taking his academic pursuits further, Arthur was awarded a partial scholarship from Walden University in the same year, to pursue a Law Enforcement Administrative Development professional certificate. This scholarship not only reflects his commitment to continuous learning but also underscores his dedication to enhancing his expertise in the field. In September 2023, Arthur solidified his professional standing by becoming a member of the American Society for Industrial Security. Demonstrating his commitment to excellence, he was approved to pursue Certified Protection Professional (CPP) certification in October 2023.
Adding a personal touch to his achievements, and as an avid sports enthusiast, Arthur achieved a significant goal on his bucket list by completing his first half marathon on November 19th, 2023. This physical accomplishment mirrors his determination and discipline, traits that have defined his journey since his days at UTT.
Arthur Carr's story to date is a testament to the transformative power of education, dedication, and the pursuit of personal and professional goals. As he continues to excel in criminology, literature, sport, and as a Police Officer in the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), Arthur serves as an inspiration for our youth at large, and current and aspiring UTT students, showcasing the limitless possibilities that come with passion and perseverance.
