As part of an EDGE Fellowship grant, Dr. Reia Guppy participated in a coral identification workshop on the Caribbean island of Montserrat. Dr. Guppy was the primary facilitator to train attendees in identifying the coral Orbicella faveolata both in situ as well as via images. Image analysis using coral point count with excel (CPCe) was also conducted. This training workshop, sponsored by the Zoological Society of London (ZSL), was held June 15-19, 2016. Participants included representatives from the Ministry of Environment, Waitt Institute, local divers and environmentalists.
