Summary of attendance at 59th Annual Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA/CHRC) Health Research Conference at the Renaissance Aruba Resort et al, Aruba; April 28th - May 3rd 2014

The Annual Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) Health Research Conference, which has been successfully hosted every year since 1956 by the former Caribbean Health Research Council (CHRC), is the largest health research conference in the English speaking Caribbean with over 200 delegates in attendance. The latter comprise researchers, policy makers, academics and health care providers thus creating a unique network of health stakeholders who share needs, information and experiences. The theme for 2014 is “Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases Through the Life Course”, i.e. from childhood to the elderly.
At the 59th Annual Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA/CHRC) Health Research Conference the Masters in Health Administration (MHA) Programme Coordinator, Dr. Agatha Carrington presented the research team’s posters that were accepted for presentation during the said conference at the Renaissance Aruba Resort and Casino, Oranjestad, Aruba on May 1-3, 2014, as well as she participated in the Pre-conference Data Analysis Workshop on April 28-30, 2014.  The UTT’s was therefore well represented at this prestigious regional health research event; its image effectively bolstered as the National University as a major regional player in the academic and research community, aligned with its strategic goal of ‘preparing a new generation of scholars to be future global leaders’.
Dr. Carrington presented four (4) of the twenty one (21) research posters under the grouping -CHRONIC NON-COMMUNICABLE DISEASES and entitled:-
