Webinar: Hydrogen - Practical Considerations.
Hydrogen has emerged as a potential technology pathway towards the decarbonization of our energy mix and a sustainable future. The falling costs for hydrogen production coupled with the drastic reduction in renewable energy cost combined with the global communities’ commitments towards climate change has provided hydrogen with unprecedented political and business momentum. However, hydrogen and the technology associated with its production, distribution and usage does come with some practical challenges and considerations. This talk would focus on the technical and engineering challenges associated with hydrogen in the context of the local petrochemical and energy sectors.

Paul Martin has Bachelors and Masters degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo. He has 30 yrs experience in the chemical process industry including 25 yrs designing and building pilot, demonstration and 1st commercial plants for new chemical process technology an international clientelle at Zeton Inc. He has experience with plants using and making hydrogen and syngas, biofuels, primary metals, battery materials, petroleum refining and petrochemicals, polymers and alternative fuels/feedstocks. He is an advocate for decarbonization and electrification in particular to address anthropogenic global warming, and he believes in this sufficiently that he built his own electric car- twice.
