Examining Non-musical Applications for the Steelpan: Measurements and Testing Thursday 28th November, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. Room 209 and 210, UTT John S. Donaldson Port-of-Spain Campus Wrightson Road, Port-of-Spain by Ms. Savitri Rampersad
Does the Steelpan, based on its design and materials, facilitate positive biological changes in the human body, thereby enhancing the body’s functions and performance?
Using a ‘Simple’ Conceptual Framework model, the main stakeholders of this research will be identified and their interdependent roles outlined. The Conceptual Paradigm identifies the relationship between the different interest groups from the micro to the macro level.
The Operational Paradigms seek to clarify the malleable factors being tested and those to be measured in the future. The low Methodological Measurements utilising questionnaires, interviews and controlled measurements are suited for a first investigatory look at a new topic leaving quantitativemeasurements to future researchers. Problems with the research instruments, accessibility and others will be identified and discussed.
