This year, the United States Institute of Theatre Technology (USITT) has selected TD&P student Faith James as one of its 2018 Student Ambassadors for its Stage Expo in Fort Lauderdale this March. 

"The Student Ambassador Program is an exceptional opportunity for students to interact with renowned international designers and technicians who are attending the annual conference.  Three student members will each be paired with three visiting international guests with similar areas of focus to encourage international networking between student designer/technicians and our global colleagues.  Student members will be chosen for this honor in Fort Lauderdale based on their fields of study, compelling application, and letter of recommendation from a mentor." - www.usitt.org

Faith will be mentored by stage and costume designer Qin Wenbao, a teacher in the Stage Design Department of the National University of Chinese Theatre Arts. Wenabo was awarded the Gold Medal for costume design at the World Stage Design (WSD) 2017 for his imaginative Chinese opera costumes replicating the effect of Chinese ink painting. 

This is an amazing opportunity for Faith.  We are extremely grateful for the support and encouragement from USITT, UTT, the APA and TD&P to pursue and bring these types of opportunities to the students of the APA.  Congratulations, Faith!
