The Food Science and Technology Unit (FS&T) of UTT’s Biosciences, Agriculture and Food Technologies (BAFT) programmes, hosted its 2nd annual Student Awards Dinner on Wednesday 16th December 2015. Each year, these Awards ceremonies are aimed at publicly honouring and celebrating the excellence, hard work and achievements of Food Science and Technology students. The occasion reinforces UTT’s commitment to continuously fostering and strengthening students’ learning as they work toward achieving their personal best.
The FS&T Unit received exceptional prizes from corporate sponsors such as a return trip for two to Miami provided by Caribbean Airlines Ltd, dinner for two at the Pembois Restaurant provided by the Magdalena Grand Beach and Golf Resort, a gift Voucher valued at $500.00 courtesy Kitchen Korner and appliances donated by Lewis Appliances and Advance Commercial Equipment Ltd.
This event was also made possible by our ingenious past and present students whom we wish to recognise, Mr Ramzan Salamat, a past student and event decorator, Ms Patrice Williams, Ms Simone Caines, Mr Michael Quacco, Mr Anderson Pereira and Ms Michelle Richards for delightful desserts, appetizers and main course cuisines in addition to catered dinner by Ms Hazel Navarro.
The FS&T Unit would also like to profusely thank and express its sincere gratitude to the Master of Ceremonies, Mr Leondon Wiggins, and instructors who made significant contributions: Mr Vergiss Lovelace, Mrs Carla Marcelle, Mr Ayoub Mohammed, Mr. Andell Edwards and their commercial sponsors in addition to those mentioned above: Caribbean Bottlers/Coca Cola, Blue Waters, Asa Wright Nature Centre and Xtra Foods Supermarket.
