UTT Libraries congratulates Senior Library Assistant Nicole Alleyne on being selected as a moderator by The Department of Library and Information Studies, UWI, Mona Campus, and the GO School of Information, in the Netherlands, for their three-day Summer Institute Online Conference, themed: AI in Information Services – Implications, Applications and Added Value, Exploring the subthemes of: The impact of AI for library schools; The impact of AI for libraries; Competencies for Information Professionals; and AI: An opportunity or a threat?

The conference takes place from June 13-15 June, 2023, and panellists include, Dr. Rosemarie Heath, Head of Department, Department of Library and Information Studies; Dr. Rahul Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Educational Studies, Faculty of Education, Brock University, Canada; Eric Kokke, GO | School for Information, Netherlands; and Roger Chung, Acting Chair of the Department of Information Science and Technology at The College of Science, Technology and Applied Arts of Trinidad & Tobago (COSTAATT).

Nicole Alleyne has worked in libraries for over twenty-two years, first at the National Library and Information System Authority (NALIS) and now, at The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT). Mrs. Alleyne holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Computing and Information Systems and a Bachelor’s in Information and Library Studies. She is currently completing her Masters’ of Arts in Library and Information Studies at UWI, Mona.
