Habitat for Humanity Trinidad and Tobago is a non-profit organization which advocates and works for the right to decent housing and sustainable improvement of the community habitat. They are committed to making decent shelter, a matter of social conscience and national action in Trinidad and Tobago (https://www.habitat-tt.org/habitat-trinidad-and-tobago/ ).

They have helped thousands of Trinbagonians construct, rehabilitate or preserve their homes since 1997 and have supported a variety of funding models which enable families with limited resources, to make needed improvements on their homes as their time and resources allow. They also provide training in financial management, technical and life skills, housing initiatives and disaster risk reduction programmes.

Habitat for Humanity Trinidad and Tobago will be hosting a virtual meeting on Wednesday 13^th October, 2021 @ 10 am titled "Housing Lab (Vi-Lab): Urban infrastructure resiliency solutions for the city of Port of Spain - Trinidad and Tobago". The city of Port of Spain is exposed to both natural and man-made hazards, especially flooding and high rains, exacerbated by climate change and socioeconomic factors.

Therefore, the objective of the Housing Lab (Vi-Lab) is to identify the main lessons and best practices from regional and global case studies in developing urban resiliency infrastructures and financing solutions for water management and flooding infrastructure to support the city’s current initiatives towards "Accelerating the Essentials and Making Port of Spain a Resilient City 2030" - a project by USAID and Habitat for Humanity. These will be collected with the analysis and discussion of three main topics: risk assessment, program design execution and financing strategies.
