The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) recently hosted a six-day Mass Casualty training programme, facilitated by the Eastern Regional Health Authority (ERHA) and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).
The programme brought together healthcare professionals and national emergency response agencies, including the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service, Global Medical Response of Trinidad and Tobago and the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, for hands-on training in disaster response.
Activities included interactive sessions, tabletop exercises, and simulation-based training focused on incident command, triage, and inter-agency coordination. The training culminated in a night-time full-scale simulation exercise, transforming the campus into a live emergency response environment and showcasing the critical role of practical, scenario-based training in strengthening national preparedness.
The ERHA and PAHO team extend sincere thanks to UTT for hosting this important initiative.
