In 2015, I left Trinidad & Tobago in search of a better life, knowing I could use what I learnt during my time as a student of the Bachelor of Applied Science in Design & Manufacturing Engineering at The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT), to secure a job in the United States. The skills I learned at UTT have allowed me to become well-versed in the field of engineering and technology, and also helped me to easily to adapt to various engineering disciplines. During my time at UTT I overcame many challenges such as work and school life balance and the loss of loved ones. My peers and the staff at the UTT supported me through each of these challenges.

I currently work for the City of Hollywood in Florida. I perform programming of Programable Logic Controllings (PLCs) as well as SCADA systems and complete process integration and maintenance of instrumentation. This is quite a fulfilling job for me as there is never a dull moment in my day. My degree in Design and Manufacturing Engineering from UTT has helped me to adapt to this new field rather easily. I am thankful to all my lecturers at The University of Trinidad & Tobago for preparing me with the knowledge and skills needed enter the international engineering workforce.
