Divisions

The UTTSG has many operational Divisions. A Governing Division called the Executive Student Guild (ESG) and several Managing Divisions called Chapter Guilds.

The ESG governs the entire UTTSG. It gives approval to the Constitution, Policies and Byelaws of the UTTSG and any such club or society in the UTT which may apply from time to time for recognition and/or funding by the UTTSG. The ESG represents YOU at all levels of the UTT management.

Chapter Guilds assist with your representation at UTT campus level management. They manage the daily affairs and operations of the UTTSG at all UTT main Campuses and or its Programme groupings. Each Chapter Guild is identified by their campus colours and a mascots.

Academy for the Performing Arts Campus

Performing Arts programmes referred to as the APA Chapter Guild.
  • Colour: Purple
  • Mascot: APA Phoenix

Rising from the ashes of what is considered a dying Performing Arts industry the phoenix which embodies the cycle of transformation, death and rebirth the APA Phoenix meant that the performing arts was reborn. An artist depiction of a Phoenix of the colors red and gold representing fire and ashes, and the color purple which signifies the Phoenix’s mantra of being revolutionary.

Camden Campus

The Aviation programmes referred to as the Camden Chapter Guild
  • Colour: Royal Blue and Gold
  • Mascot: Eagle

Taking to the sky and recognizing that this is the only limit aviators are willing to accept the Eagle embodies the pride, speed and royalty that is the Aviation
Programmes. Eagles do not mix with other birds and only enjoy flying at high altitudes. An Eagle does never surrender to the size or strength of its prey. It fearlessness royalty and vision is represented by its colors of royal blue and gold

Chaguaramas Campus

The Maritime and Marine programmes referred to as the Chaguaramas Chapter Guild
  • Colour: Navy Blue and White
  • Mascot: Chag Sharks

The shark Family in one ocean kept together by the strength of the Ship’s wheel represents the diversity that is our Chaguaramas Campus. The Manta Ray "blankets" and thrives amongst the water columns and the Sea bed which reflects the Marine Sciences Studies. The Hammer Head Shark known as a building Shark that has a 360 0 vision, reflects the discipline of the marine engineers. The Great White Shark considered a great and long-lived Navigator of the ocean reflects our Navigational Disciplines. The Bull Shark that have habitats closer to coastlines and freshwater reflects the core discipline in Maritime Operation Studies. Different Disciplines One Family to define us all SHARKS!!!

Corinthians

The Education and Sports Programmes referred to as the Corinth Chapter Guild
  • Colour: Red
  • Mascot: Thesius – Corinthians

The design shall incorporate an artist depiction of a gladiator merged with St. Thomas Aquinas, carrying a torch in the right hand and a book in the left hand. This design represents the merger of Education and Sports programmes. 'CORINTHIANS' considered to be fearless warriors and the perfect athlete carries the light that would guides to knowledge. Its main color red represents its boldness and protective traits.

Eastern Caribbean Institute of Agriculture and Forestry Campus

The Agriculture programmes referred to as the ECIAF Chapter Guild.
  • Colour: Forest Pine Green
  • Mascot:Raging Bulls

An artist depiction of a Bull encompassed by three black rings used to depict agricultural science. It is meant to inspire the science of agriculture with the core of the Atom being a strong raging bull (locally referred to as a Buffalypso). The Words ‘ECIAF’ at the top and ‘RAGING BULLS’ at bottom pays homage to the Eastern Caribbean Institute of Agriculture and Forestry and its merger into the National University of Trinidad and Tobago.

UTT John S. Donaldson Campus

The Fashion and Technology programmes referred to as John D Chapter Guild.
  • Colour: Maroon
  • Mascot: John D Knights

The design of a kneeling Knight meant to pay homage to John S Donaldson the founder and defender of a creative partnership to provide education to a people who was thirsting for it. The word ‘KNIGHTS’ with the letter ‘D’ on its shield held in the left hand of the knight and a Sword held in the right hand represents sovereignty of a society moving from colonial dependence to independent nationhood. The color maroon is important as a symbol of honor, nobility and loyalty which signifies the John D Knights.

Point Lisas Campus

The Manufacturing and Engineering Programmes referred to as the Point Lisas Chapter Guild
  • Colour: Lime Green
  • Mascot: Energy Giants

This design shall incorporate an artist depiction of a gladiator holding a spear and a shield standing as a Giant on an industrial estate. The estate to which Point Lisas is housed is well known for the many giants in the oil and gas industry operating there. As such the Energy Giants is the embodiment of education in the energy sector and its importance to national development. On its shield are drawings of an Oil Rig and barrels and the use of lime green and red to represent T&T’s visions to remain Giants in the oil and gas industry through education.

San Fernando Campus

The Engineering programmes referred to as the San Fernando Chapter Guild.
  • Colour: Teal
  • Mascot: Sando Drillers

The Drill Head Crowned by Gear wheel identifies with the Drillers name and the name of its original establishment which boast a wealth of History in Trinidad and Tobago: San Fernando Technical Institute (SFTI). This design in all represents the programs offered and is a subset of Petroleum, Mechanical, Process, Structural, and Construction Engineering that is our San Fernando Campus.

Tamana

Education and Criminology programmes referred to as the Tamana Chapter Guild
  • Colour: Orange
  • Mascot: Leo - Tamana Lions

Lions are known to symbolize courage strength and excellence. Its main characteristics wisdom and pride are the main reasons to which the educational programmes is represented by this dominating king of the jungle. “The future of our nation are in the bookbags of our children”-Dr. Eric Williams stated these words to signify that a government investment in nurturing education is the key to success. A lion pride with the use of the colors orange gold and black embodies the governments vision in nurturing education.

UTT Campus at TTHTI

The Education, Engineering and Agriculture Programmes for Tobago referred to as the Tobago Chapter Guild.
  • Colour: Yellow
  • Mascot: Tobago Wolves

Three wolves beneath a sun symbolizes bravery, loyalty, wisdom and protection. In keeping with the nations visions wolves are meant to embody it vision and teach us to trust our own instincts. A wolf pack is a symbol of guardianship and a definite social structure that instils rules and conduct much needed for a growing society.

The main color yellow defines the wolves inner vision, confidence and of course its ability to strategize the hunt.

The Executive Student Guild

The logo's design are three interlocking arms that represent strength in unity and the circular formation of the arms representing tenacity. The arms shall be red, white and black respectively, to represent our status as student representatives of the National University. Around the arms, aregold stars for each main campus of UTT.
