Former UTT Patriots Basketball captain and student-athlete, Patrick Scipio, has been named Head Coach of the Denmark Technical College (DTC) Men's Basketball Team in the United States.

In June 2021, Patrick was hired as Denmark's Assistant Men's Basketball Coach and its Director of Residence Life & Student-Athlete Retention Coordinator. He will replace former Men’s Head Coach Andre Payne, who will now oversee the women's basketball programme.

In DTC's official press release, Payne, who is also the school's Athletic Director, had high praises for Patrick stating, “Coach Scipio has proven himself time and time again. His ability to connect with players is impressive and he will continue to be an amazing mentor to the team as he takes on this lead role.”

As for Patrick, he is confident in his coaching abilities with the experience gathered thus far. “I’m really excited to have the opportunity to take my coaching career to the next level. I have learned so much in the Assistant Coach role and I’m ready to continue making an impact on the programme as Head Coach,” said Scipio.

Patrick has also taken on a new role as Academic Advisor & Athlete Retention Officer.
