UTT Patriots Netball student-athlete, Shaniya Morgan, has been selected to be part of the Trinidad and Tobago Senior Women's National Netball team that will be participating in the 2023 Netball World Cup in Cape Town, South Africa from 28th July – 6th August.

The Netball World Cup is the sport's quadrennial flagship competition organised by its international body, World Netball. It brings together the top sixteen (16) ranked teams from across the world.

Trinidad and Tobago qualified for the marquee event following the team's performance in the Americas leg of the World Cup Qualifiers, held in Jamaica back in October, 2022.

It was at the Qualifiers where Shaniya made her debut at the senior level. This came following her Under-23 national selection and participation in the Guadeloupe Caribbean Games from 29 June to 3 July, 2022.

In June of this year, she was called up once again for senior representation at the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games in El Salvador.

Former UTT Patriots Netball players, Jameela McCarthy, Oprah Douglas, Shaquanda Greene-Noel, Daystar Swift, Joelisa Cooper and Shantel Seemungal are also a part of the World Cup team.

UTT wishes Shaniya and the rest of our national representatives all the best.
