I am Franzy Bowen, a dedicated and accomplished healthcare professional with a passion for improving and promoting excellence in the healthcare industry.
My career in the health sector began as a Youth Officer with the Family Planning Association of Trinidad and Tobago. From there I transitioned to North Central Regional Health Authority (NCRHA) as a Clerk in the Radiology Department; and was later moved to the Office of the Medical Chief of Staff, where I stayed until I migrated in 2020.
During my tenure at NCRHA, my unwavering commitment to improving existing processes in my department led me to enroll in UTT's Masters in Health Administration (MHA) programme in 2017, which I completed in 2021.
Presently, I am a Project Coordinator for the World Trade Center Health Program at Mount Sinai Hospital - one of the most prestigious hospitals in the United States. One requirement for landing this job was an evaluation of UTT's MHA programme. The resulting report validated the MHA programme as meeting international standards, and therefore internationally recognised. I believe that the MHA program, in particular the courses on Program Planning and Evaluation, and Health Planning and Strategic Planning, effectively prepared me for the position I now hold.
I would encourage anyone who is passionate about enhancing the operations of healthcare systems and addressing issues of reforms to health sectors to apply to this esteemed program.
