Representatives of UTT’s Student Guild and the Alumni Association were invited to a special meeting with Professor Ramesh Deosaran, Acting President of UTT, on Thursday 29 July, 2010 at the O‘Meara Campus.  Several chapter Presidents and Vice Presidents of the Student Guild were present along with Executive President, Mr. Nkoma Monsegue. Representing the Alumni Association was the Secretary of the Executive Committee, Ms. Marsha Maraj.  A special invitation was also extended to members of the Bansraj family. UTT student Arnold Bansraj, of his own volition, wrote and forwarded the letter, "UTT is Not an Acronym for Corruption", to the editor of the daily newspapers as a personal rebuttal to the various messages in the print media about the University and a confirmation of his own positive and  personal experiences as a student of UTT.
