Concert of music from across the globe at APA

The Academy for the Performing Arts held its end of semester Ensemble Concert on Friday 8th December, 2023. This performance featured seven ensembles performing music from across the globe.
The World Contemporary Music Ensemble performed the Finale from Ravi Shankar's Symphony. This new arrangement by Aidan Chamberlain featured students vocalising tabla sounds under the guidance of Prashant Patasar.
The Caribbean Soul Ensemble under the direction of Michael Chapman performed music from closer to home with arrangements of Jahaji Bhai and Engine Room.
There were performances from the Choir under Dr. Leah Brown, saxophone and brass quartets, a jazz combo and a rousing finale from the Lion King by the Contemporary Music Ensemble under the leadership of Anthony Woodroffe.
An enthusiastic audience added to the atmosphere and brought a successful semester to a close but with an eye on more to come in the new year.
