Dr. Kelly has over twenty years of postgraduate research and industrial experience in process optimization, exergy analysis, exergoeconomic analysis, air conditioning, and manufacturing. She worked as a Research Assistant at the University of the West Indies (UWI) for two years, where she conducted research on the exergy analysis of absorption chillers and gas turbine systems. She also served as a Research Assistant at the Technical University of Berlin, where her research focused on the optimization of thermal systems using exergoeconomics, emphasizing splitting exergy destruction (irreversibilities) into its endogenous and exogenous parts. With over seven years of experience in the manufacturing industry, Dr. Kelly has developed expertise in discrete manufacturing, air conditioning design, and operation.

Dr. Kelly is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT), researching the areas of thermal system improvement using exergy analysis, renewable energy through harnessing energy from the ocean, conversion of waste and landfill gas to energy, and ethics and professionalism for engineers.
