Mr. Steve Seetahal is a Senior Instructor, in the  Foundations and Prior Learning department at The University of Trinidad and Tobago. Mr. Seetahal, a Fulbright scholar in Economics, holds a B.Sc. in Economics and a B.Sc. in Mathematics from the Louisiana State University and a M.A. in Earth and Mineral Resources from the University of Texas at Austin. He is also an alumni of the Harvard Business School, having completed their prestigious Programme  for Leadership Development.  For each of his degrees he graduated summa cum laude, with a GPA of 4.0 and while at Louisiana, was awarded the University Medal for the highest overall academic achievement

A Petroleum Economist by profession, he lectures in Mathematics as well as Business and Entrepreneurship Studies. He is also currently serving his second term as a member of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago. His past professional experience includes consultancy work at Gaffney, Cline and Associates in their Houston office and being part of the commercial team with BHP Billiton in Trinidad.  His areas of research include energy investments and risk management, particularly the use of real options along with other methods to evaluate investments. He has published numerous academic journal articles in the area of financial management of the oil and gas industry. Mr. Seetahal is also involved in pro bono consultancy work for startups and other entrepreneurial activities.
